The Arabic language is an integral part of our national identity and a fundamental pillar of the cultural and civilizational journey of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Since the era of the Founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, may his soul rest in peace, our wise leadership has given the Arabic language great care and attention. This commitment has continued under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may Allah protect them, through pioneering initiatives and projects that have strengthened the presence of the Arabic language across various fields, both locally and internationally.

As part of the continued efforts in this field, the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language was established as a specialized scientific institution that contributes to promoting Arabic, serving the language, and connecting it with the culture of our time. This comes in recognition of its central role in building people, advancing knowledge, and reinforcing identity, in line with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision to strengthen culture and national identity. It also contributes directly to achieving the objectives of the Human Capability Development Program, one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030, with the Arabic language serving as a key pillar in human development and societal growth.

The Academy benefits from the continuous support and direct supervision of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, may Allah protect him. This support has enabled the launch of high-impact initiatives and projects across the Academy’s four main tracks: linguistic planning and policy, computational linguistics, educational programs, and cultural programs. These efforts are guided by a modern institutional vision that positions Arabic as a way of life, a vessel of knowledge, and a bridge for cultural communication among societies.

Guided by this vision, the Academy operates according to an approved strategy that defines the direction of its work locally and internationally, sets clear objectives, and establishes structured workstreams based on partnerships with various institutions and relevant entities within national, regional, and international frameworks.
