Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, KSGAAL’s Secretary-General, stated, “The launch of the third edition of the award is part of the ongoing efforts to promote the Arabic language locally and internationally. This initiative acknowledges the dedicated contributions of individuals and institutions and celebrates excellence in the field, fosters loyalty, enhances communication within the Arab community, and recognizes Arabic language-related specialties. The ultimate goal is to ensure a prosperous future for the language, reaffirm its leadership among languages, enrich Arabic knowledge content, and raise awareness of the role and status of the Arabic language.”
Al-Washmi commended the support and guidance of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, the Minister of Culture and Chairman of KSGAAL’s Board of Trustees, for KSGAAL’s initiatives and programs, including the award. He added, “The King Salman Global Academy Award for Arabic Language Service is one of the key initiatives intended to serve the Arabic language and enhance its presence. It is an integral component of KSGAAL’s foundational efforts, originating from the Human Capability Development Program, one of Saudi Vision 2030’s realization programs. This overarching endeavor aims to strengthen identity, revive heritage, and enhance the development of individuals and their skills.”
The award serves as an incentive for all individuals and institutions interested in the Arabic language and its sciences. It also extends to qualitative initiatives and projects that enhance the Arabic language arts and its various disciplines. Supporting distinctive efforts to serve the Arabic language and address its diverse challenges, KSGAAL ensures consistent recognition for the language and ongoing support for researchers in the field of Arabic language service each year.
The award encompasses four distinct categories: Arabic language teaching and learning, Arabic language computation and the utilization of modern technologies to serve the language, Arabic language research and scientific studies, and promoting linguistic awareness and initiating community language initiatives. The award involves individuals who have contributed to the Arabic language service, including researchers, authors, writers, specialists, and enthusiasts with tangible intellectual output benefiting the Arabic language both locally and internationally. It also includes governmental and private institutions that have served the Arabic language, such as higher education institutions, specialized research organizations and centers, and entities that have provided services and
