KSGAAL to Join Beijing International Book Fair 2024

King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL), in collaboration with the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, will participate in the 2024 Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), held from June 19 to 23 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. KSGAAL will be showcased in Saudi Arabia’s pavilion, where the Kingdom will be a guest of honor.
KSGAAL will join the Saudi pavilion, alongside various cultural and national entities, aiming to achieve the goals of the Human Capability Development Program, a key initiative of Saudi Vision 2030. This involves conducting pertinent activities such as seminars and panel discussions and fostering engagement among several Saudi and Chinese researchers.
In collaboration with the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, KSGAAL will organize the Saudi-Chinese Linguistic Forum. This scholarly and cultural event will feature a seminar titled 'Arabic and Chinese Language: History and Relations,' comprising three sessions. The first session, 'Arabic Language and Cultural Communication,' will examine linguistic influences and cultural exchange. The second session, 'Arabic and Chinese Linguistic Cross-Influence,' will explore loanwords and linguistic phenomena. The third session will be a panel discussion on 'Teaching Arabic in China,' offering a historical overview of Arabic language education in China, its current status, language needs, and teaching Arabic for business and tourism purposes, alongside the latest trends in teaching Arabic as a second language.
KSGAAL successfully concluded its Arabic Language Month program in the People's Republic of China on April 26th. Held in Beijing and Shanghai, the three-week program was inaugurated by His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of KSGAAL's Board of Trustees. This initiative builds on KSGAAL’s "Scientific Programs on Arabic Language Education" project, with similar programs conducted in India, Brazil, Uzbekistan, and Indonesia. Partnering with educational institutions, KSGAAL delivered a series of scientific activities focused on curriculum development, teacher training, and enhancing teaching competencies, ultimately contributing to achieving the program's goals and expected outcomes.
By participating in the Saudi pavilion at the Beijing International Book Fair 2024, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, KSGAAL aims to showcase its projects and programs for disseminating the Arabic language locally and globally. It also highlights its commitment to Arabic language education for non-native speakers, emphasizing Saudi Arabia's contributions to Arabic language service and its sciences worldwide. Ultimately, this initiative elevates the status of the Arabic language and culture, promotes and enriches Arabic content, and fosters greater awareness of the Arabic language among Chinese and international attendees at the Beijing International Book Fair 2024.
