KSGAAL and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties ink cooperation agreement

King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) has signed an agreement with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties on the use of the Arabic language among non-native practitioners. The agreement aims to achieve integration for supporting medical studies and scientific research in the Arabic language and developing the Arabic skills of non-native health care professionals through education, training, joint programs, knowledge enrichment, and awareness campaigns.

The agreement was signed by KSGAAL Secretary-General, Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, and the Secretary-General of Commission for Health Specialties, Prof. Dr. Aws bin Ibrahim Al-Shamsan.

The agreement will enhance collaboration on educational and training services tailored to the health care sector. The two parties will explore a project to create an Arabic medical dictionary in Saudi Arabia. In addition to facilitating the exchange of information and experiences, the agreement will foster Saudi and Arab culture, promote national occasions among health practitioners, and celebrate the World Arabic Language Day.

This agreement is part of KSGAAL’s efforts to enhance its cooperation with several government stakeholders. These collaborations involve several joint projects aimed at advancing linguistic policies in the Arab region and addressing the need for a joint policy, enhancing the usage of the Arabic language, and utilizing computational linguistics to create language dictionaries and promote the benefits of using the technology in relevant projects. Additionally, they involve programs for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers and enhancing the proficiency of native speakers.
