KSGAAL Collaborates with Digital Government Authority - Launching Digital Government Glossary

King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) is collaborating with the Digital Government Authority (DGA) to launch a specialized Arabic jargon, the Digital Government Glossary. The publication will unify the digital government terminology and their explanation, and avoid discrepancies and confusion in translation. This will ensure consistency and create a unified, reliable reference for government agencies, researchers, and anyone interested in digital government.

KSGAAL’s Secretary-General, Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi commented: “We appreciate the immense support of the Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud - may God protect him - and the follow-up His Highness provided in launching the glossary. We also appreciate the Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Engineer Ahmed Mohammed Al-Suwaiyan, for activating cooperation between government sectors and completing this specialized linguistic publication, as well as contributing to raising the level of interest in the Arabic language in the public sector, achieving the aspirations of the astute leadership and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030’s Human Capability Development Program.

This glossary includes the key terms used in the digital government field, based on the digital government laws and by-laws, and the regulations issued by the DGA. The glossary is available through an interactive digital version and arranged alphabetically in Arabic and English, displaying other related documents.

The publication aims to enhance collaboration in preparing legislative and regulatory texts, create a unified reference for digital government terminology, avoid differences in concepts and translations of terms, and educate researchers and anyone interested in the field of digital government.[HC1]

The Digital Government Glossary brings several benefits to language users. It will minimize the risk of misinterpreting digital government terms, enhancing clarity and accuracy in communication, facilitating understanding and exchanging digital information, and accelerating the pace of digital transformation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Download the Glossary here[HC2] ).

Through a broad range of linguistic initiatives and programs, KSGAAL seeks to preserve the integrity of the Arabic language and its linguistic identity, support its spoken and written form, and facilitate its teaching and learning within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and beyond.
