KSGAAL Launches Application for Cohort II of Arabic for Non-native Speakers teaching Program

King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) announced that it has started receiving applications to join the Arabic Center’s program for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. Learners will gain a grasp of the Arabic language culture in a stimulating environment that facilitates Arabic language learning, empowers learners to communicate with it, and helps them integrate into society.

Applications are open from February 15th to March 15th, and live classes will commence on September 1st, 2024. The program aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s Human Capability Development Program objectives. It complements the Kingdom’s efforts to spread the Arabic language and culture worldwide by providing exemplary, quality education in an attractive cultural environment.

The program comprises four levels in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)—A1, A2, B1, and B2—each lasting two months and totaling 160 educational hours or 20 hours per week. It also features cultural enrichment activities. Anyone interested in applying to the program should register (through the link) after fulfilling the conditions set out by KSGAAL. The program covers tuition fees and offers learners lodging and transport stipends.

KSGAAL aims to provide exemplary education through the program, which is designed according to the best international standards for language teaching. The program supports KSGAA’s goal to spread the Arabic language and Saudi Arabian culture worldwide by introducing learners to the country's heritage, customs, and traditions and helping them recognize its tourist and archaeological areas. Various enrichment activities and travel and visit programs are integrated to promote the learning process and provide learners with ample opportunities to explore Saudi culture.

The program offers a learning model that blends the linguistic and cultural aspects of the Arabic language. Learners will have the opportunity to engage in conversations and interact, expressing themselves verbally or in writing. They will use Arabic through their interactions within and outside the program. They will also be encouraged to use social media channels to practice their communication skills and gain various insights into the Arabic language.

The program graduates will have successfully passed four essential milestones: using the Arabic language with a proficiency level that meets the program’s objectives; practicing Arabic language elements in speaking and writing; communicating with others in different situations and contexts; and recognizing the most essential aspects of Arabic and Saudi culture.

The program aims to attract distinguished learners from all over the world who wish to learn Arabic as a second language. This will serve to spread the Arabic language and enhance cultural diversity and interaction, fostering solidarity between the Kingdom and the countries of the world. Applicants must have a high school diploma or a higher educational qualification. They should not have received another scholarship from any educational institution in Saudi Arabia or been dismissed from any of them. The applicant must be at least 18 years old and should pass the personal interview conducted remotely for those initially accepted.

The program’s first cohort had more than 16,000 registered applicants from more than 30 countries worldwide. A total of 150 eligible applicants will be enrolled in the program.

The program is based on a curriculum with integrated learning units that include linguistic elements and skills. By the end of the program, the learner will be able to clarify concepts related to the structures, vocabulary, sounds, and spelling of the Arabic language, use Arabic language skills and elements in speaking and writing, and recognize the most critical aspects of Arabic and Saudi culture. Upon completing the educational program, learners receive a certificate from KSGAAL.
