KSGAAL organizes Arabic Language Month in Indonesia

King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) is organizing Arabic Language Month in Indonesia from January 7th to February 2nd in the cities of Jakarta and Malang. The event features a program of structured activities held in collaboration with several educational institutions to develop the Arabic language teaching curricula, improve the teachers’ performance, and enhance the status of the language. The program includes visits to Indonesian universities that have Arabic language departments and programs.

KSGAAL Secretary-General, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, stated: “Guided by its strategy and the direction of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, His Highness Prince Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, KSGAAL is actively promoting the Arabic language locally and globally through several tracks. This is one of our key programs that highlights KSGAAL’s instrumental efforts in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers and underscores the Kingdom's commitment to serving the Arabic language globally. Remarkably, the program aims to train teachers directly and enhance their teaching capabilities, ultimately improving learning outcomes for Arabic language learners.”

Additionally, KSGAAL and Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta will jointly host an Arabic language academic competition across three tracks: public speaking, storytelling, and Arabic calligraphy. The competition aims to integrate KSGAAL's key publications in this field and promote their usage among learners.

The program will be held for three weeks in Jakarta and one week in Malang. The agenda features four teacher training courses and two panel discussions, all of which focus on employing active learning strategies in teaching Arabic as a second language and developing the competencies of Arabic teachers to non-native speakers. Additionally, four training courses will be available for learners covering listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

The Arabic Language Month in Indonesia is part of the KSGAAL-led initiative, the "Arabic Language Teaching Scientific Programs" and serves KSGAAL’s ongoing efforts to spread the Arabic language and culture globally. The initiative’s purpose and objectives align with the Royal Order to propose and implement an integrated plan for hosting Arabic language months across Central Asia, organizing an Arabic language conference, and implementing training courses and programs to spread the Arabic language and culture across Central Asian countries.
