KSGAAL to Launch the ‘Arabic Language Month’ in India

King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) is set to launch the "Arabic Language Month in the Republic of India" program. Scheduled from July 1 to 26, 2024, the one-month-long initiative will take place in New Delhi and Kerala. It will feature a series of scholarly programs and events in collaboration with international partners committed to Arabic language education to develop the Arabic language curriculum, enhance educator performance, elevate global appreciation for Arabic, and showcase Saudi Arabia's leadership in this field. Aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, the initiative embodies the Human Capability Development Program objectives.
Secretary-General of KSGAAL, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, stated, “Under the visionary guidance of H.H. Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, KSGAAL is dedicated to disseminating the Arabic language locally and globally. This program aims to showcase our initiatives in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers and underscore Saudi Arabia's global contributions to the Arabic language and its sciences. Through specialized teacher training programs, we aim to enhance educators’ teaching competencies and elevate educational outcomes for Arabic language learners.”
KSGAAL will host a scientific competition targeting Arabic language learners in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru University. The competition will focus on oration, storytelling, and Arabic calligraphy, complementing KSGAAL's key publications and encouraging their integration into learning experiences.
As part of the program, KSGAAL will conduct the Arabic Language Proficiency Test (Hamzah), benefiting 500 learners from Jawaharlal Nehru University and Kerala University. This initiative aims to strengthen the dissemination of the Arabic language, promote its widespread usage, and recognize outstanding achievers.
Spanning four weeks in New Delhi and Kerala, the program will feature a scientific symposium, multiple discussion panels, scientific visits, and specialized teacher training courses. These courses will focus on developing linguistic proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, implementing active learning strategies in teaching Arabic as a second language, refining teaching practices, and enhancing the competencies of teachers of Arabic to non-native speakers.
The "Arabic Language Month in the Republic of India" program is part of KSGAAL's broader "Arabic Language Educational Programs ". Previous editions have successfully launched in various countries, including Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and China, underscoring KSGAAL’s ongoing commitment to advancing linguistic and cultural exchange on a global scale.
