The King Salman International Complex for the Arabic Language has launched today its visual identity that expresses its central message in serving the Arabic language, dedicating its position as the language of global dialogue, and enhancing its contribution to the enrichment of civilizations and scientific and cultural development.

The idea of the ​​identity and the shape of the logo was inspired by the Arabic writing signs that mix between “the beauty of calligraphy” and “the pride in the components of the Arabic letter” as one of the oldest letters still in use, and as Arabic calligraphy is one of the oldest still living arts, and this beauty and originality surround the logo of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is located in the heart of the world, and its moderate culture is a center for it.

The aesthetic symbols are rotated in the slogan of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, such as the rotation of the globe, and in it is the land of the Kingdom and the Qibla of Muslims, to symbolize the Kingdom’s position in spreading Arabic and its culture, and its high value as the source of that language and culture.

Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, the Secretary-General of the Academy in charge, explained that the announcement of the new identity represents the confirmation of the wise leadership’s continuous interest in strengthening the position of the Arabic language regionally and globally, highlighting its depth and influence in people’s cultures and the consecration of world peace, and the ability of this honorable language to be a language that keeps pace for the era at all times and places.

The launch of the complex’s logo and identity coincides with the systematic and institutional path of the Arabic and Islamic culture, and the roles that the complex will play during the coming period to serve our Arabic language, within the strategic visions confirmed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman – may God protect them both. With the follow-up and direct support of His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman International Complex for the Arabic Language.

Al-Washmi indicated that the new identity confirms the function of the complex in achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and the strategic objectives of the human capacity development program announced by His Highness the Crown Prince. Which he will implement until the year 2024, which is to become a global reference in the fields of the Arabic language and its applications. He added that it will enrich the Arabic content on the Internet by intensifying the presence of the Arabic language in various technical, scientific and cultural fields, through a strategy based on the implementation of 11 programs and 19 activities, divided into four main areas: language planning and policies, linguistic computing, educational programs, and cultural programs.

It is noteworthy that the King Salman International Complex for the Arabic Language was established by a decision of the Council of Ministers, and it includes major projects within the Human Capacity Development Program – one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 – aimed at strengthening, spreading and protecting the role of the Arabic language regionally and globally. The complex undertakes multiple tasks related to serving the Arabic language, including maintaining its integrity and support, verbally and in writing, examining its eloquence, origins, methods, measurements, vocabulary and rules, and facilitating its learning inside and outside the Kingdom to keep pace with changes in all fields.

The complex seeks to be a global reference in the fields of the Arabic language and its applications by publishing research papers and books specialized in the Arabic language, Arabic language tests and standards, artificial intelligence in the Arabic language, conferences and exhibitions, blogs and dictionaries, Arabic language teaching centers, and media campaigns that enhance the value of the Arabic language.
