Among the substantial works in linguistic planning, which the Academy began working on, is building a special indicator for the Arabic language. The index is based on the survey of international experiences in the forming of various indicators, identifying the relevant gaps, and conducting a preliminary analysis of the content, its quality, nature and level of representation in the index, leading to the construction of objective indicators that include quantitative and qualitative data capable of representing the status of the Arabic language in its local, regional and international context. Based on the results provided by the index, the annual report on the state of the Arabic language will be built, which seeks to be an objective reflection of the state of the Arabic language, contributing to understanding its reality and challenges and working to serve it in an optimal way.
