KSGAAL Launches Intensive Expert Preparation Program “Khabir”

King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) has launched its Intensive Expert Preparation Program (Khabir), a training program tailored for specialists in applied linguistics and Arabic teachers for non-native speakers. Applicants are accepted into the program according to specific enrollment criteria and will undergo intensive in-person training from January 28th to March 13th, 2024. Guided by a panel of experts, the training covers four pedagogical fields.

The program aims to establish a community of experts in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers among the existing practitioners. It also aims to develop a distinctive model for teaching Arabic as a second language and train professional educators and language experts, enriching their academic expertise.

KSGAAL has designated three weeks for each training program, with the third week dedicated to presenting a hands-on project through a digital platform. Participants will undergo training in four areas: designing Arabic language programs for specific purposes, creating virtual Arabic language programs, developing language tests, and building linguistic teaching materials. The training programs will be conducted in multiple cities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and enrollment is open through the link: regForm (ksaa.gov.sa).

To participate in the training program, applicants must meet KSGAAL’s specific conditions and regulations. These include being fully dedicated to the program, attending at least 90% of the scheduled training hours, and being a specialized Arabic language instructor to native or non-native speakers. University professors are required to have a minimum of three years of experience, while Arabic language teachers must have at least five years of relevant experience. Participants will receive a certificate of completion after concluding the program and upon submitting the final project.

Through the Khabir Program, KSGAAL aims to achieve the objectives of the Human Capability Development Program, one of Saudi Vision 2030’s realization programs. The initiative also reflects KSGAAL’s commitment to preserving the integrity of the Arabic language, supporting its usage in spoken and written forms, enhancing its status, and facilitating its teaching and learning within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and beyond.
