KSGAAL and KAPL Collaborate, Mark New Era in Arabic Language Services and Cultural Activities

King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with the King Abdulaziz Public Library (KAPL). The agreement aims to enhance cooperation through a series of developmental projects and cultural and training activities in Arabic language services, sciences, arts, and literature. This initiative aligns with the goals of the Human Capability Development Program, one of the Saudi Vision 2030 realization programs.
The MoU was signed at KAPL’s headquarters in Riyadh, in the presence of KAPL General Supervisor, Dr. Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muammar. KSGAAL was represented by its Secretary-General, Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, while KAPL was represented by its Director-General, Dr. Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Mubarak.
The agreement marks a milestone in KSGAAL’s journey to achieve its core objectives. These include promoting the Arabic language, preserving its integrity in spoken and written forms, studying its eloquence, origins, methods, and grammar, and facilitating its learning and teaching within and outside the Kingdom through modern techniques.
The MoU outlines several areas of cooperation. These include building bibliographic databases, creating references in Arabic language sciences and related fields, and developing digital repositories. It also encourages collaboration on building linguistic corpora for Arabic texts and publishing linguistic commonality lists.
The MoU facilitates the exchange of scientific outputs between the two parties, including books, periodicals, whitepapers, and other publications. It encourages cooperating on research related to KSGAAL’s Arabic language proficiency test and publishing it. The agreement also extends to participation in the accompanying exhibition at KSGAAL’s annual conference, translating books and works in the field of tests, and adding KSGAAL proficiency test research to KAPL’s databases.
